IPL 2025 auction players: The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin mid-March next year. The player auction for this season started on Sunday (November 24) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 72 players were sold on the first day, for a total of Rs 467.95 crore during the period. Before the auction, 10 teams had retained 46 players under retention rules. A total of 204 player slots were vacant in the auction, of which 72 have been filled. IPL 2025 Auction: First Day Auction

The first day of the IPL 2025 auction has concluded. A total of 72 players have been bought by 10 teams. Pant was sold for a maximum of Rs 27 crore, Rs 25 lakh less than Shreyas Iyer at Rs 26.75 crore. Pant was bought by Lucknow and Iyer by Punjab. His old team Kolkata Knight Riders surprised everyone by buying Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 23.75 crore. David Warner, Devdutt Padikkal and Piyush Chawla are the star players who went unsold on the first day. These players’ names can be bid again on the second day of the auction.
