IPL 2025 will see big changes in the captaincy of many teams. Kolkata Knight Riders are considering making Ajinkya Rahane their captain.

There are 10 franchises in IPL 2025, out of which 5 teams currently have captains and 5 teams are looking for a captain. Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans have captains. At the same time, the captaincy of Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore is yet to be decided.
KKR team has star players like Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh. The question of who will be the captain of KKR has increased the curiosity of cricket fans.
But KKR has bought Rahane for the captaincy. Rahane was bought for 1.5 crores in the mega auction held in Jeddah, Kolkata. Rahane has experience as the captain of Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants and CSK in the IPL.
It is being said that Ajinkya Rahane is 90% certain to become the captain of KKR. For that reason, KKR bought him specially. However, this is yet to be officially approved.
However, there were earlier reports that KKR may hand over the captaincy to all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer next season. Venkatesh was bought by the franchise for Rs 23.75 crore in the mega auction. However, no official information has been revealed about Rahane or Venkatesh Iyer becoming the captain.
