BMW has taken a bold step into the future of electric mobility with its BMW iX3 Neue Klasse EV. Platform and Technology
The iX3 is built on the all-new Neue Klasse EV platform, which is completely different from the older ICE-based models. It uses sixth-generation eDrive technology. The cylindrical battery cells are designed for high energy density, low cost, and fast charging. The 800V architecture enables 400kW DC fast charging. A range of 372 km can be added in just 10 minutes.
Power and Range
The BMW iX3 Neue Klasse EV 50 xDrive dual motor delivers 463–469hp of power and 645Nm of torque. It takes just 4.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h. Its WLTP range is a maximum of 805 km, and ~400 miles according to the US EPA standard. It is also the perfect choice for long journeys.
Design and Interior
The new Neue Klasse design language gives the SUV a sporty yet modern look. On the outside, there are small kidney grilles, sharp headlights and aerodynamic body lines. On the inside, the panoramic iDrive system attracts attention. The 43-inch AR display and 17.9-inch touchscreen provide technology and comfort at the same time. Spotify, Disney+, YouTube, Gaming and Zoom are also installed.
Eco-friendly Manufacturing
BMW has given high priority to eco-friendly production. Around 30% of the parts used are recycled materials. The factory runs its production entirely on renewable electricity. The car has a 34% lower carbon footprint than the previous generation model.
BMW iX3 Neue Klasse EV Price
BMW aims to launch at least six new electric cars in its new class by 2028. The iX3 will be available in Europe in spring 2026, in the US in mid-2026, and in China in mid-2026. Prices start at €68,900 (roughly Rs. 62 lakh) in Europe. In the US, it will be around $60,000.
