The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic were introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025. They are now available for pre-order and will officially hit the market from July 25. The Galaxy Watch 8 has been redesigned with a lightweight new design for modern users. The Classic version is perfect for those who love the style of a traditional watch.
Innovative design and display features
The Galaxy Watch 8’s new cushion design is 11% lighter and is only 8.6 mm thick, making it more comfortable to wear. Available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, the special AMOLED display offers 3000 nits of brightness. Both models are protected by sapphire crystal glass and are 5 ATM + IP68 water resistant.
Faster performance and more storage options
The Watch 8 Classic model has a traditional rotating bezel and a stainless steel body. It measures 46mm in size and weighs about 63.5 grams. Both models use the Exynos W1000 processor, which increases speed and efficiency. The Watch 8 has 32GB of storage, while the Classic version has 64GB of storage for those who need more space.
Long-lasting battery and fast charging
Additional features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, LTE option, NFC, and dual-frequency GPS. Battery capacity is 325mAh for the Watch 8 (40mm), 435mAh for the (44mm) and 445mAh for the Classic model. Fast wireless charging is also available.
Innovative health and wellness tracking
In terms of health tracking, it includes various innovative health features including heart rate, ECG, body composition, temperature and sleep analysis with bioactive sensor. New features include antioxidant index, bedtime guidance, vascular load, sleep apnea detection and AI running coach with personalized training plans.
AI experience with Wear OS 6 and One UI Watch 8
On the software side, both the watches run One UI Watch 8 with Wear OS 6. This brings several useful improvements including Google Gemini AI support, smart notifications and a new Nav Bar.

The price of the Watch 8 in India starts at ₹32,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth and starts at around ₹46,999 for the Classic model. Global prices start at around $360.
